Thermometer is Hospital Grade 3 and can be calibrated for all types of skin color. Darker Skin has a nominally higher reading than light colored skin and this unit can be calibrated to reflect the difference in skin color, providing a more accurate reading. Accuracy is +/- 0.2 C. Also this unit has a measurement distance of 2"- 6" most others are less that 2 inches.
